What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is the practice of medicine using technology to deliver care at a distance. A physician or Nurse practitioner in one location uses a telecommunications infrastructure to deliver care to a patient at a distant site.

Telemedicine uses video or telephone communication to connect patients with a medical professional for exchange of information electronically. As a patient, you can see your provider in this manner instead of an in-person visit.
